Earlier on Whatsapp announced that they would withdraw support for Blackberry, lower Android phone and other mobile devices like Nokia. Which resulted in Blackberry users looking for upgrades before the year ran out.

Well good news as Whatsapp have had a change of heart, stating in one of their blog’s frequently asked question that have extended the deadline now to 30th of June 2017.

It read thus:
“As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms:

BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60″

Other smartphones running on lower Android OS platform will also stop receiving supports during the designated period by Whatsapp. Which includes but not limited to:
*Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
*Windows Phone 7
*iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

So if you have any of the above devices and have been worried sick of upgrading, you can now relax. lol… Whats your view on this??
