Easy Steps On How To View Instagram Stories On Your PC

One of the most popular photo-sharing apps called Instagram which has really been a competent rival for snapchat, has just recently introduced a feature called ‘Stories’. For those wondering what Stories are, I’ll be explaining below.

Stories is a feature that essentially allows IG users to post photos and videos which would be scheduled to automatically delete after 24hours. Now for those accessing the site directly from the app with a mobile phone might not find this as an issue, but alot of users accessing it from the web with a PC or desktop have been complaining of the Stories not appearing on the website yet.

But do not worry as their is a working solution to it. Although its compulsory that you must use Chrome browser as this method only works on a Chrome extension. The extension injects and displays the Instagram stories just above your feeds on IG’s website.

Here’s how to use Chrome IG Story to view Instagram stories on desktop

Step 1: Search for Chrome IG Story in Chrome Web Store. When found, click the ‘Add to Chrome’ button to install the extension.

Step 2: Once the extension is installed, you’ll see its icon show up besides the icons of other extensions.

Step 3: For testing Chrome IG Story, go to Instagram.com website from the desktop and check your profile. You should now be able to see the Instagram Stories that appear on your mobile app, on the top of your Instagram feed.

Step 4: You can use the arrow keys to navigate forward and back, and press the Esc key to close the gallery. You can also right click the icon of an Instagram user to download their Story.

The obvious advantage of Chrome IG Story is that you don’t have to pay anything for it. Chrome IG Story provides a hassle free way to enable Instagram’s Stories functionality on the photo-sharing service’s desktop app.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that even though this allows you to view the Instagram stories, it does not mark them as ‘seen’. So the person who has posted the Story won’t know that their story has been viewed or downloaded.
