According to the island Defense Military, 29 of Chinese warplanes has been launched in to Taiwan’s self-declared air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Tuesday.
It should be noted that China already previously sent 30 warplanes on a similar mission and this would make it the third highest number of daily warplanes to be sent into Taiwan’s air space by the Chinese.
The Defense Ministry said the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force planes were a mix of fighter jets, early warning and control aircraft, electronic warfare aircraft, anti-submarine aircraft, electronic intelligence aircraft, and aerial refueling aircraft.
The Taiwanese military scrambled combat aircraft in an impromptu response to warn the Chinese jets away, and thereby issued radio warnings and deployed air defense missile systems to monitor the activities, the Defense Ministry added.
This is as a result of decades old dispute between the two countries over territories. Beijing has kept military pressure on the island with loads of warplanes and fighter jets.
