Taxi Crash in Manhattan Critically Injures Three People

A taxi crashed into a building in Flatiron district surrounded by hotels, restaurants and bars on Monday, hitting a cyclists and other pedestrians on the lane.

Three people were in critical condition on Monday afternoon after a taxi jumped the sidewalk in Manhattan’s Flatiron district. The driver hit a cyclist and several pedestrians with his vehicle, the authorities said.

From a statement by the fire department, the taxi crashed into a building around 29th and Broadway, leaving many injured. The police is still investigating the case but they believe it to be an accident for now.

As the driver turned left onto Broadway, the police said, his cab hit a cyclist and veered onto the sidewalk. The vehicle then accelerated and pushed two women against a wall.

A lot of witnesses gave their testimonies to the incident, which they described as ugly. Three head life threatening injuries and about six were critically injured including the taxi driver.
