The length people go when taking selfies can be crazy at times. The selfie craze has become a social plague and even worse, it’s getting people killed. So today I decided to compile some hilarious incidents of people killed as a results of taking selfies.
Last year, 27 selfie related deaths were recorded worldwide and surprisingly, half of these deaths happened in developed countries where Smartphones are rampant. Below are some of the incidents I stumbled upon:
*Last year January, 3 students died trying to take selfies in front of a moving train. What!!!!
*A Russian woman reportedly shot herself while posing with a loaded gun for a selfie. Damnnn!
*In march again a group of friends attempted to take a selfie on a boat while on the river, all 7 friends died when the boat capsized. This to an extent is more than hilarious!!

*A girl and her two friends fell into the water while trying to take a selfie near Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai. One of them drowned and her body hasn’t been recovered. A passerby who jumped in to save them also got drowned…
The police is already working to prevent more selfie related deaths as a number of “no selfie zones” have been established in some countries. The police will now approach the city’s municipality to prevent accidents at such spots due to people taking selfies. The municipality may deploy life guards and install warning signs.
